One of the largest animal care centers in the Midwest, The Animal Medical Center of Mid-America, is seeking a CVPM to manage a team of 25 technicians and assistants at its Macklind location.

Responsibilities
As practice manager at the Animal Medical Center, you will work directly with the Medical Director to ensure the safe, compassionate care of patients and pet owners; maintain an organized, respectful work environment in which team members can grow and enjoy their profession; and sustain the hospital´s good financial standing. More specifically, you will:
- Oversee daily work schedules
- Maintain hospital-wide medical and performance standards
- Oversee the hospital´s recruiting, hiring and train processes
- Maintain the Certified Veterinary Assistant Program
- Maintain OSHA safety standards
- Oversee the hospital´s Fear Free training program
- Oversee the practice’s inventory levels and costs
- Maintain the hospital’s AAHA accreditation standards
- Work with other leaders of the Humane Society of Missouri to ensure that all efforts work towards our overall mission of humane pet care.
- Work with individual employees as needed to help them thrive within our organization.
Qualifications
- Certified Veterinary Practice Manager
- A minimum of 5 years of veterinary work experience with at least 2 years in a veterinary hospital leadership role
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents
- Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints
- Ability to conduct effective meetings with employees or to sometimes act as a spokesperson to the press
- Solid understanding of Microsoft Office products like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
