Eminence Animal Hospital, located in Cloverdale, Indiana, is accepting applications for a veterinarian interested in a sole proprietorship for a legacy practice.
The current owner is the daughter of the founder of the practice, Dr. Otis Patrick, who owned the practice for 57 years! The position offers great working hours, a unique and diverse case load, and best of all, the perks of ownership!

Our current veterinarian is sad to say goodbye, but Dr. Jessica Abernathy plans a return to her hometown later this year so that she can spend more time with her extended family. Dr. Abernathy works an average of 41 to 42 hours a week, Monday through Friday, from 8-5pm with two hours blocked out from 12-2pm for lunch. The practice is also open on Saturdays from 8am-12noon.
27 Days Off Per Year!
The position comes with 2 weeks paid vacation and 7 days paid sick leave plus an additional 6 days for major holidays for a total of 27 days off per year! You’ll receive $2500 annually towards your health insurance and your license fees and dues are paid by Eminence. The practice also supports up to $1500 of reimbursement for CE.
Compensation
As a sole proprietor, you’ll receive a generous base pay and as a perk of ownership, a good portion of your taxes will be paid by the business. Additionally, part of the end of year profit is distributed to the partners making for a great wage. Use it to enjoy your life, to pay off your student debt, or add it to your retirement account; it’s yours to do with as you like.
Case Load
About 70% of the case load that Eminence sees consists of dogs and cats with the remaining work dedicated to the pigs, cows, horses, chickens, sheep, and goats. Eminence serves the emergency needs of our clients as well, but doctors have the option of opting out of taking call from time to time and of course you will be compensated above your base pay for any emergency cases that you see.
