I Want You to Write Her Up

Dr. Hannah had had it.

“I want you to write her up,” she told her practice manager, Rebecca. “We had the meeting. We couldn’t have been more clear. I had how many talks with her about why we need her to follow the new workflow procedure? How many have you had with her about it? She’s not trying. She’s doing it out of spite. I want her written up.”

“But…” Rebecca started.

“Rebecca,” said, Dr. Hannah stopping her before she could begin, “I want her.  Written.  Up.”

Questions:

What’s the point of a ‘write up’? Does it work?

Have you been in a situation where an employee seemed to resist change interminably? Any advice for Dr. Hannah? She’s listening.
